Episode 2: Sudan : The Sanctuary of Animal Kingdom
They about to land to find snails for their lunch
Tharjath is situated in the Southern Sudan. Geographically it is a savannah land covered with green tall grasses and swampy. No mountain and no hilly site. Everywhere is flat.
It just like a padi field behind my wife's house....almost the same
The rain started to shower in June and subside in December. Because of the unique characteristic of the soil, the rain water is sustained and created a mild and beautiful wet land for the animals. But here you cannot really observe the mammals and aggresive reptiles because they only roaming towards further South of Sudan.
The wild ducks prepare to landing
There are plenty of birds with different species flying and gliding above the sky and migrating from one place to the other. I enjoyed travelling at the new ring road to our site, especially during early morning and sunset. If you were lucky you can see a deer on the road, astrayed from his group.
The geese took a break after a long soak
There are plenty of birds with different species and colours. During the raining season you can see red and yellow sparows dangling on the grass to build the nest, but all will disappear or migrating to the other places after december.
A pair of crowned birds in the romantic mood
Using my digital camera has some limitation especially the zoom is limited distant. The result is not so good since you only capture the birds from far away, if not they started to fly. It is not so difficult to take the photos of the cranes but is not easy for the eagles. You can find the white headed eagles sitting on the trees searching for their preys.
Another species of birds finding food at the dumping site
But the common brown eagle you can see all over the area flying and searching for rats and insects. If you have a very powerful zooming camera it will helps you to take thousand of splendid pictures, just like what you enjoyed in the National Geography magazine.

When the dry season arrived, all the areas will turn brown. No more water for the lotus to grow, and no more splashing pool for the wild ducks and geese. The local people now started to burn the grass everywhere to fertile the land for an immediate grow for the new grasses in order to graze their cattles.

They will collect the grass straws to build their simple hut. No bank load, no architect, no contractor for them to worry about. Still they manage to have a peaceful mind and sleep to enjoy. Life is so simple to take care.

Simple house....you can build it anywhere you like with natural materials

This is me with my friend Nizam after aidil Adha. Dont know where to go...so lets snap few photos
