Berlin: City of Tears and Sadness
That is me in front of Humboldt University where Albert Einstein was a student
We had planned to go to Berlin. I have not been there but it must be very interesting to enjoy the week ends plus the public holidays. Myself, Nizam and Zahar felt that it would be good to take Euro bus. The journey took 8 hours from Copenhagen to Berlin. Since Copenhagen resided in the island, so when we reached Rodby, we took a ferry to Puttgarten, the entry to Germany. We reached Berlin almost 2.00 p.m. at the bus station. Now we have to find way how to get to Ibis Hotel which is situated in Eastern Berlin. We took a train to reach our destination and about 6.00 p.m. we reach the hotel after exhausting asking people to find the place. It was bitterly cold and quiet.......and our foremost intention now was to eat and sleep. It was already dark when we arrived at the hotel.

In front of Ibis Hotel......the next days, get ready for the tour. It was a quiet morning. We walked for a while to have breadfast at Turkish kebab stall. It was not expensive......one kebab is only for 1.5 Euro and a cup of coffee is for 50 cents. Not that expensive compared what we had in Copenhagen.

City of Berlin.......I stand there to capture the destroyed church behind me, during the world war II. It remained as it is and as a memory and history of the desasterous war. There is a new church built next to it. I did not enter the new church ( made of glassess)...but people claimed that you can feel the magnificient ray of lights in the church hall when the sun started to illuminate its ray to the building.......

Hee...heee.....in front of Hardrock Cafe.....Zahar, Nizam and my self, bought some T-shirts for own collection. We already have it in Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm....and now Berlin. Initially I was not so interested to buy those T shirts but why not as souveniour for my long lasting memories.

Kurfurstendam or people usually call Ku'damm....is the centre of the shopping heaven. I was possing at a displayed glass outside the shops. It is normal to find the displayed glass along the shopping street. What I can say about the price....chocolates were very cheap. I bought varieties of them and my bag full to bring to my kids.......they really mad with chocolates!

I was smiling when Nizam took my photo. Actually there were a couple started to take one.....about my picture. They were from of the TV crews came to interview me regarding graffity. You know what did I say.......? "Its beautiful and a kind of unique art blended with instant ideas and colours.".....aha...try to look at the following photo........yeah you can see the wall of grafitty but you cannot see zaharuddin coz he is small.......any way he is qute.....hehehehe

This is Zaharuddin.............nice shot!

The second day we decided to join the walk tour. We gathered at MC Donald and Andy, our tour guide briefed us about the program for 4 hours and costed about 12Euro. The weather was not promising. During the tour most of us were soaked in the drizzling rain. No umbrella, no rain coat, and really kept us chilled.

I was standing in front of the glass engraved with articles agreed during the unification of the West and the East Germany. Now Berlin became an administrative and capitol for the government, just like Putra Jaya. Just wonder.......maybe they learned it from us.....heheheh

Previously there was a Berlin Wall crossing the channel. Before unification, West and East were separated by the wall. Those 8 crosses were marked for those people who were killed during their escape. The names and dates of the deceased were written on the crosses.

This is the Jewish Synagouge....the domes are coated and lined with gold...that what we were informed by Andy. They have 24 hours security by the government authority. These people are the one who control the businesses and all legal aspects.

This car is made in East Germany. Very old fashion and absurb.....hehehehe...The Berlin Wall is still visible but the local authority barricade the wall with fencing coz people started to scrap it for souvenir. You can see the plaster already gone.

Check Point Charlie........we stopped by for lunch after a long hours walk. This venue was controlled by the US army at the western and Russian army at the Eastern. The border just separated the two. Few numbers of Russians selling the used army uniforms, hats and some ladies accessories. Look at me.........standing in front of BMW.....just imagine when I can manage to have it......................too expensive to imagine........perhaps in my dreams.

This is the biggest and tallest building built by the East Germany, Communist government. The building already abandoned and the authority undecided to destroy or remain as historical monuments. There is still debate between the people and the government. But for the Eastern, they would like to demolish the building from any further rememberance of the oppressed rulers.

Jewish memorial of genocide........ Everybody knows about the history. The authority undecided how to do the memorial. Some people suggested to have monuments and written down all the victims' name. But they want something unique. One architect (forgot about the name) came with brilliant idea to have blocks of concrette arranged in grits with different heights and sizes. The idea was when people entered the area, they will get lost and panic to find the way out after walking in the valley of blocks. That what was happened to the Jews when they we caught by the Nazis and put into the death chambers. The monuents was not opened to the pubic when I visited because the authority cannot think how to prevent the graffities......since grafitties are legal in Germany...that what we were told.....

End of the journey...............................Andy told us that during the war only 30% of the building remained untouch but the others were destroyed. Millions of people died. It was a hard time for the Germans to rebuilt their nation and country. War never profit anybody. Everybody is losing......we lost our loves one just to fulfilled somebody's desire and ideology. I took the oppurtunity to take photo of the statues of Lenin and Stalin....the hardcore......History may repeats itself.........people used to say that...' Forgiven but never forgotten'.

Zahar on the right and Nizam on the left..........Nizam felt so guilty for not bringing his wife together....uhuk...uhukkk......dont worry....marry another one....

Heal the World

There´s a place in your heart and I know that it is love

And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow

And if you really try, you´ll find there´s no need to cry

In this place you´ll feel there´s no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there

If you care enough for the living

Make a little space make a better place

Heal the world, make it a better place

For you and for me and the entire human race

There are people dying

If you care enough for the living

Make a better place for you and for me

If you want to know why there´s a love that cannot lie

Love is strong

It only cares of joyful giving

If we try we shall see in this bliss

We cannot feel fear or dead

We stop existing and start living

Then it feels that always love´s enough for us growing

So make a better world make a better world............................

Heal the world, make it a better place

For you and for me and the entire human race

There are people dying

If you care enough for the living

Make a better place

For you and for me and the dream we were conceived in

Will reveal a joyful face

And the world we once believed in

Will shine again in grace, then why do we keep

Strangling life, wound this earth,

Praying its soul, though it´s plain to see

This world´s is heavenly, be god´s glow

We could fly so high let our spirits never die

In my heart I feel you are all my brothers

Create a world with no fear..Together we cry happy tears

See the nations turn their swords into plowshares

We could really get there if you cared enough for the living

Make a little space to make a better place….
