The Prognosis

In life you can never perfectly know what is going on. Sometimes, it comes to your surprise and you have to deal with it wisely. Yes, life is full of surprises. The only thing is how are you managing them as a kind of prediction. In Islam we called them Qada and Qadar i.e faith and destiny and deal them with taqwa and patience.

After finished doing all kinds of tests to my eyes, finally the time to meet the doctor (the eye specialist). My heart was drumming and curious to know what would be the result and advice. The doctor is so famous. She is not only an eye specialist but also a good muslim and a motivational orator. She has written many books about motivation, life and infact appear in Radio IKIM giving talks about religous topics on weekly basis. Looking at the number of patients in the clinic and other charitable activities, she must be a busy lady. I just wonder how she is managing her time.

I always feel nervous when meeting the doctor after the medical check up. Who know what are surprises going to come. My time had come. Slowly I walked to the room and the doctor greet me with her sweet smile and offer me a seat. I sat down quietly and ready to listen to the prognosis. I started to feel my adrenaline keep on pumping faster.

The doctor mentioned that I have cataract to my both eyes and reccommended for a surgery. Oh my god.... I accept the news with calm. What should I say? But I was still in the state of disbelief. No wonder my vision was not comfortable, blurry and foggy lately and I know that something was wrong. After few moment of consultation I have decided to undergo the operation next week. The lasik can only be done after the months. However, my retina and other parts of my eyes are healthy.....
